Only 60 Days and counting to the next Annual Open Enrollment Period for health insurance coverage which runs from November 15, 2014 through February 15, 2015.
The Annual Open Enrollment Period is the time when individuals and small groups (< 50 employees) can make health insurance coverage selections.
You will be able to do one of three things: apply for a 2015 plan (whether you purchase ON or OFF the healthcare exchanges), keep your old plan (if still offered) or pick a new one.
Open Enrollment is also the opportunity to apply for tax credits. Arizonans can apply for tax credits through the Federally Facillitated Marketplace (FFM) with the help of your certified agent or broker such as L&A Services, Inc.
To buy insurance outside the Annual Open Enrollment Period, you must qualify for a Special Enrollment due to a qualifying life event like marriage, birth or adoption of a child, or loss of other health coverage.
This pertains to all INDIVIDUALS and SMALL GROUPS !
4 key dates:
November 15, 2014. Annual Open Enrollment Period begins. Apply for, keep, or change your coverage.
December 15, 2014. Enroll by the 15th if you want new coverage that begins on January 1, 2015. If your plan is changing or you want to change plans, enroll by the 15th to avoid a lapse in coverage.
December 31, 2014. Coverage ends for 2014 plans. Coverage for 2015 plans can start as soon as January 1st.
February 15, 2015. This is the last day you can apply for 2015 coverage before the end of the Annual Open Enrollment Period.
